Watching YouTube and saw different configurations. I’m kind o wishing I would have spent the extra 100 on the 8GB graphics card.
All I will be doing is Auto Cad 2d maybe the trying to write some music with logic I think it’s call some photo editing maybe I might
try to get into lightweight video editing. No heavy duty 3D gaming.
Am I making a mountain out of a mole hill about the memory.

Benchmarks show the performance difference isn't that great between the 4GB and the 8GB. You should be just fine with the 4GB

I'm curious as to why you didn't get a computer with an Nvidia GPU, most of my friends that work with AUTOCAD all use Nvidia due to the performance advantages.

I‘m not that heavy of a user, 2D is all I will be using. My choice was because I have the Apple Eco system in full effect.
I know there is a work around but since I have Apple TV it will be easy to mirror my Mac when I need a bigger screen for
doing floor plans.
Thanks👍

If it was me, i would have went with the 2.3 GHz CPU, it's $200 cheaper than the 2.4 GHz CPU and the performance difference is pretty negligible. Then you could use $100 from that for the 8GB GPU if you feel like you'd need it. With the use you've described though, the 8GB GPU may not be that drastic a performance increase over the 4GB GPU and may not be needed either. Since it's only a $100 upgrade though, it's the easiest one to "eh might as well" throw it in.

I run a 2016 i5 Macbook which works fine for basic Autocad 2D. You know the fan-less 12“ ...

so i guess you should be more than fine :)

Remember that going all out doesn't mean better in some cases.
Thermals will be stressed to a much greater degree on higher configs thus lowering the longevity of the system.
Also If as far as I am aware autocad doesn't even take advantage of multi threading.
Higher single core performance should give you better performance in Autocad.
Drop for base model CPU and you will save even more money and extend the life of your system.
