For my 2008 MacBook 2.4GHz.

Just for peace of mind, it's definitely a 2.5" HDD needed for pretty much all MacBooks, right?

So I can indeed buy: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-500...2SRY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319893017&sr=8-1

Thanks.

yep 2.5"

You should be able to get better deals than that. Yes you can buy it, it will work. I would recommend a 7200rpm drive aswell.
If you are replacing your current drive in the macbook you need the following: http://www.amazon.co.uk/IOMAX-Exter...QQ8Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319901481&sr=8-1
You need to put the new drive in there, connect it, clone your current HDD with SuperDuper or CarbonCopyCloner onto the new one in the enclosure. Then you replace the old one in the macbook with the new one. The old one can then be used as an external HDD in the enclosure!
