Hi guys, i planned to buy an iPad so i dont have to bring my PC everywhere do you guys think iPad 3 is enough or should i go with iPad pro? which one is worth the money?

Ps.i dont really going to use the apple pencil since im not a designer

I use the 10.5 pro for my work, but everyone's needs will be different. I work in an office for a plumbing merchant and I use the pencil for taking down notes and the smart keyboard attaches instantly for when I am typing out emails or letterheads.
There is a huge jump in price between the standard iPad and the pro and at the end of the day I would say it all boils down to whether you need the extra processing power or the pencil. You can get bluetooth keyboards cheap enough that work with either should you need one.

Are you talking about the real iPad 3, the first one with the retina screen and the 32-pin dock connector. I hope not.

If you don’t want to bring your laptop, I’d recommend the 10.5” Pro and the Apple Smart Keyboard. That combo is very laptop-like. My 12.9” rarely leaves the Smart Keyboard. It folds up nicely, also. Carrying an Bluetooth keyboard will cramp your style. Instead, with the ASK, it’s as easy as just opening a Smart Cover.

I think typing on the virtual keyboard gets old fast.

I second this. The 10.5” Pro and the Smart Keyboard is the way to go. It’s an excellent combo, and for me, a complete laptop replacement. If you want/need a protective case for the back, I recommend the UAG Folio case - it’s compatible with the Smart Keyboard.

Depending on your needs, the 2017 iPad might be a better buy.

After using the iPad Air 2 I would have a problem going back to a non-laminated screen, but if I never had it I would probably not miss it.

The best thing to do is consider what you will use it for and check them out in the store first to make your decision.

The iPad 3 is an ancient device. I would go into a store and look at the current iPads on display. Buy from a company with a good return policy, try the device and return it if it doesn’t meet your needs or expectations.

One of the things you can do with the pencil is sign PDF documents. I’d get the pencil even if you don’t think you need it right off. Since you’re not likely going to have a scanner where you scan, print, sign, scan, and then send as that would be way too many steps. It’s easier to simple have a document in email or in iCloud and that sign it and send it back.

Ultimately depends on what you hope to be able to do on your iPad. Any examples?

I am thinking that I will upgrade in '18 but I will keep my iPad as well.
This is the way to go. When I got the 12.9, I didn’t realize how much I’d love having two iPads for different purposes. They both get a ton of use. My poor MBP is sitting all alone upstairs. :( I think I’m going to have to find him a new home.
