Hello Thread,

I would like to buy Zelda and other Nintendo games for my kids but can't seem to find a reliable website to do so. The Nintendo website does not have MAC games to purchase. Where should I go to buy it?
Thank you!

Nintendo games are only available on their proprietary gaming hardware (not the Mac). Their flagship console right now is the Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo 3DS is a slightly less inexpensive option, but is supposed to go out of support this year, meaning there won't be many new games from Nintendo on that system.

I would recommend a Nintendo Switch and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Both can be purchased at any major retailer (Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Target, etc.)

Also, if you have any iOS devices, Nintendo released some mobile versions of a few of their major franchises: Super Mario Run, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, and Fire Emblem Heroes, though I don't think any of these are necessarily a good representation of the quality of the software they put out on their own platforms.

Thank you. I think we will buy a Wii or something like that and get the adaptors for our computer. I just want my kids playing quality games while I still have some control over their online activities.

The Nintendo Switch does have a pretty fully featured Parental Controls app for your phone/tablet. The online is pretty much the same as the Wii U in terms of privacy and safety. It still uses a friend code system for adding people, and communication is pretty limited to pre-written text in most the games. The nice thing about the Switch is that you don't need to hook it up to anything. It has its own dedicated screen and can be taken anywhere, like any other handheld. It also comes with a dock that can be hooked up to a TV or monitor with HDMI in.

If you're not worried about having the latest and greatest though, you can get a Wii U refurbished, direct from Nintendo, for $175 right now. Zelda: Breath of the Wild is also available for that system, plus a couple other Zelda remasters of Windwaker and Twilight Princess - https://store.nintendo.com/ng3/browse/subcategory.jsp?categoryId=cat160004
