Big news. The firmware update released today drastically reduces the external temperature of my macbook. I can hear the fans spin most of the time now at a low rpm. BUY BUY BUY!

Oddly enough this update did indeed drop the temp, almost 8-10* at idle. (Using CoreDuoTemp to mesure). Before, it was running at 61-62* idle, now it's at 52-54*.

Just ran the mbp at full load (~5 mins), b4 update the temp is 82*. After update, temp seems to of not changed. But there is some inconsistency as the temp fluctuates from 79-82*C more often than it has before, so the update could be trying to keep it cooler. If so, it's around 4-5*.

Keep in mind these temperature readings are for the CPU as the real temp for real world use will actually be cooler.

Anyone else w/ difference in temp b4 and after update?
