Knowing how to read feedback is everything on eBay... and just b/c they have a couple negative doesn't mean I won't buy from them either...

Just make sure the seller has recent feedback... Dormant accounts are often hacked for fraudulent sellers to rip people off...

You certainly scored an amazing deal. I wonder if the seller knew the value of the Gold iPhones.

It's nice to hear good stories vs all the scam attempts/horror stories on eBay.

I agree that purchasing items on eBay is great - granted you do your research on the buyer first. Luckily, I have never been burned on a purchase before, but I usually do my due diligence before I bid on an item.

I usually sell my old iPhone model on eBay once the new one is released, and I've had people bid, win the auction, and never pay. But eBay has made it pretty simple to get final fee value credit while I immediately relist the item.

To the Op, congrats on the gold 5S!

Mine was described as in excellent condition and this is what I received! The phone is bent and they couldnt even be bothered to clean it. This has put me off Ebay and will only buy direct from Apple from now on.

ha! That is literally an ass phone... that is how they get bent that way.

That's a great deal, I'm surprised the seller didn't list it for more money. They must have used an upgrade on a line they didn't need with the intention of selling the phone.
