Buying Sprint iPhone X from Apple Store

If i buy the sprint iPhone x paid in full from the Apple store it should work for any gsm/cdma SIM card out the box? Or is it subject to us reseller flex policy where i would need to activate it with a Verizon SIM card before it is unlocked?

If purchasing directly from Apple store, they are not subject to the reseller flex policy. When you buy it outright, they don't ask for your carrier info and they mark that device as "Device Only". It will be unlocked and no you do not need to insert Verizon Sim card on first boot.
