Does anyone have any advice on where I might be able to locate the recently ended line of imacs brand new as I do not have the budget to be able to buy the new brushed aluminium ones. I have tried direct in the apple store over the weekend but have been told they will not be selling any refreshed ones whatsoever. The online site is only selling the 24" version and sadly ebay is lacking many at the moment. Any advice would be appreciated. Even second hand I am quite happy to take one.

John lewis probably still have them, might be able to get a discount if you tell them it is the old version, or if you really want to pay through the nose to get one i'd try PC world.

My local PC World still have the full range of old iMacs on display.

Unfortunately, they are still marked up at the original prices.

    Ebuyer

    Hi

eBuyer have several types of the old-style iMac in stock.

    QuickFind Codes:
    117327
    117326

Don't know what the price comparison is like against the new ones

You could also try Comet, Mac Warehouse and Computer Warehouse.

A few Tesco stores sell iMacs and I think their online store does as well.

John Lewis usually end up discounting them at some point. If there isn't one near you keep checking their web site. It's also worth remembering that you get a two year warranty from them.

    Try Currys.digital.

I would stay away from Comet. PC World and Currys.digital also do price matching so you could try that.

PC World and Currys are part of the same retail group, so I wouldn't expect too great a deal on their price matches.

I was at Bluewater in Kent at the weekend and the John Lewis store there had an old 20" Core2Duo iMac for £849. They also had a Mac Pro, some ACD monitors and a couple of MacBooks and MacBook Pros.

i went to pc world in croydon this afternoon to look at the new imac. they didn't have any and won't have any for two weeks. they're still selling the old ones and i saw someone buy one. don't know if they have reduced the prices. i did wonder if the person buying the imac was aware there was a new one or just preferred the old one.
