Hello all,

I will be purchasing a Mac to replace a Linux box and was wondering if compiling and running C code is as simple as opening up a terminal and compiling and running the output similar to Linux? Is there anything that I need to be aware of in terms of compatibility or restrictions?

Particularly I do research with the OLSR routing protocol (OLSRd daemon) and use it quite frequently:

If anyone is willing to test this out it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Just as easy.
First you need to install Xcode (xcode 3 included on OSX install disc, Xcode 4 is 4.99 from the mac app store) and that will install the GCC compiler and all the other terminal tools you are probably already accustomed with. that you can launch from the terminal.
