Personally I really like the C2D lineup.

While I'm using a Core i7 now due to my extremely demanding work. I've kept my C2D MBP for everything else. It's a great model!

In reality im just hoping higher screen resolution, i3 SB processor, 4gb of ram and I'm happy

As much as it sounds good to get the newest and latest... I really like what they've done with the C2D Processor. Then again, my opinion comes from a 2006 MBP to this one that I picked up today. Right now, I can just say that it's definitely good enough for someone who needs an upgrade from an older laptop.

Besides, I jumped on it since its Refurbished and this thing looks brand new.

it'll still get the job done but $1199 is a lot of money to me and if I'm gonna spend that much I want the latest and greatest.

Anyone who spends over $1000 dollars on a 6 year old CPU deserves to be lobotomized.

An Apple logo doesn't make the thing magically faster. Pay the extra $600 to get a legitimate Mac or go spend $400 less on a comparable computer made by a different company and just make it into a hackentosh. The architecture is essentially the same now so there aren't as many problems.

I mean I get that everyone here loves Apple, but let's stop pretending that $1200 for a C2D isn't a complete rip off.

Well, technically, the current C2Ds don't actually cost much less than Arrandale. So whether the computer has a core i3 or a C2D shouldn't really affect price much. Instead, Apple has a slightly better integrated GPU than most Arrandale machines (the Nvidia 320m), which may contribute to the cost. I'm not saying $1200 isn't outrageous for that kind of power, but that "Apple tax" will exist for the 13" MBPs whether or not there's a C2D in there.
