What cables would I need to connect my GEEKOM A9 Max Mini AI PC AMD Ryzen™ AI 9 HX 370 to my new Apple Studio Display XDR?

The PC has the following ports:

2 × HDMI 2.1 FRL
1 × USB 4.0 Type-C DP-Alt-Mode / PD-In
1 × USB 4.0 Type-C DP-Alt-Mode
plus 4 × USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A

Although I'm a developer, I know next to nothing about hardware. From searching the web I think I would need the following combo:

PC
> HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort 2.1 cable
> DisplayPort 2.1 to USB Type-C Thunderbolt 5 cable
> Studio Display XDR

Is that correct?

And interestingly most if not all cables seem to be ‘backwards‘ to my needs (there are a lot of UBS-C to DisplayPort for example but I didn't find any DisplayPort to UBS-C).

That doesn't work unfortunately.
It works with my
Lenovo Legion 5-15 Ryzen AI 7-350 - RTX5070 - it has 2 usb-c ports, 1 is connecting to integrated graphics, another one to the dGPU, in that case try not thunderbolt cable, but the usb-c port still should work with that thunderbolt cable
Make sure you have amd drivers installed, windows is overcomplicated and usually lacking drivers is a thing making things not work.

Thank you very much, but unfortunately I have no idea what you're talking about (shame on me!). I can plug in cables – and of course by them first –, and that's it.

It has USB4 that supports eGPUs, so they're essentially TB3 ports like the supported M1 products. It should work just fine.
Only if the implementation is correct. In googling it, it seemed like this would not work. I agree with the idea that USB-C ports should work, but overall it seems unlikely, and the proof is largely in the pudding as the OP is unable to get it to work

I was able to connect with the following two cables I had ordered yesterday and received today:

PC
> USB Type-C to DisplayPort 2.1 cable
> DisplayPort 2.1 to USB Type-C Thunderbolt 5 cable
> Studio Display XDR

Thanks to all suggestions and comments.

I was going to say you need this:
bidirectional Displayport to USB-C cable.

From here, post #728

Can you provide links to all the cables?

Ok, bidirectional USBC/DP2.1 cable. I bought one before but don't have a new enough Intel/Nvidia GPU that supports DP 2.1.
