I got that.. I had to go to m.google.com/sync instead of just m.google.com because every time I did it the other way, it would request the apps account./

NOW, this is where it gets annoying.. My regular calender kind of disappeared and I can only view my initial calender when I VIEW ALL.. and the really weird thing is that things like credit card payments and pet appointments are all color coded, but their colors dont mean anything. For instance, my WORK calender is red.. and when i view ALL to see my original calender appointments, and look at a credit card reminder, it has a red dot next to it.. but its not in the red colored calender.

THEN there is the fact that the google calenders do not allow you to set two alarms or reminders. Only one. VERY VERY annoying! I like one to remind me early in the day, and one right before the appointment.

ehh.. not really impressed with this..

and heres the kicker.. because no one has really answered this.. Can other people access the same calender from other phones of their other accounts???

With all due respect every single one of your questions HAS been answered in this thread along with detailed instructions. All I can say is I have the exact setup you wish to implement, and it can be done all for free through Google. In fact, I have MobileMe as well but find it an inferior solution for sharing calendars between multiple persons.

they have only said that you care SHARE calenders.. that is not the same as allowing both people to access and change the same calender.. That is different. In google, you can go into SHARE and allow a different user to share your calender, and you can set what they can see and cant's see.. but it does not allow for that user to update the calender.. THIS is what I am trying to find out..

For me and my business, MobileMe is the best thing going. I have over 1200 customers and a full calendar and it syncs up all day. Best thing going for my type of work.

apparently the only way to get both of our phones the ability to update the calender and not just view it is to use my login for the calenders on BOTH phones.. which means that anyone I want to be able to access that calender will have access to my entire gmail account.

Let me get this straight.

-Your business is growing very rapidly
-You're considering hiring a person just to input your appointments into a calendar

And yet you don't want to spend the $60 for something that does exactly what you want and save yourself the hours of trouble you are currently experiencing?

BTW, I'm not trying to be a smart***, just trying to understand the situation. It just seems to me that if your business is growing so much (congrats, that's quite an accomplishment!) your time and would be worth more than the $60 it would cost to get your ideal solution configured in minutes with MobileMe.

Have you tried adding a shared google calendar? I can add people to have access to the shared calendar and also change what their permissions on that calendar should be. No need for them to access your calendar with your account, they should be able to use their own.

Yes you can. When you select the settings for the calendar there is an option to allow the person you are sharing with to manage and update the calendar on their end as well.

The other person that you want to have access to your calendar with edit permissions needs their own google account as well and then you can share the calendar with them.

I do this with my wife and she can see all the different shift patters that I work and then put in appointments into my calendar on my days off. Admittedly I do use google apps but it should work the same way with just a normal google account as they both use the same interface. For a free service it is pretty damn impressive.

Sometimes.. when a business is growing.. smart spending can make or break it. I'm sorry, but just because something it pegged as the easiest solution does not always make it the best solution.. I would rather NOT waste $90 a year on an account for something that you can get for free.. SO why would I make a bad business decision and go ahead and toss $90 a year away?? To me, that sseems like a wrong move.. UNLESS you really dont have the time to try and figure this out..

I dont consider this "trouble" considering its about 1 hour total, on a weekend, that would be a bit cheaper than years of paying for a service.. It might not make sense to you, but it makes sense to me. I like to keep the money I make.. Doesnt matter if we have a $6 contract or a huge retainer. Saving money is what will make your business.

back on track..
WIth the SHARED permissions, it shows only that users can READ and not WRITE, so when I logged in under the person whom I allowed to "share" the calender, they were not able to add to it..

MOE, you said your wife can see the shifts you work.. but can she add something that you can see?? I have not been able to get that to work just yet

And you set the permissions to "make changes to events"?
