I am using the Calculator app in macOS Sequoia.

I am using the conversion capabilities therein as illustrated by the following:

I cannot get the list of conversion options (as highlighted by the red square) to scroll in macOS no matter what I try (i.e., mouse, arrow keys, etc.). I note that these easily scroll in iOS by a simple swipe.

I would appreciate help in getting the converstion options in macOS to scroll.

Thank you.

Scrolling for me by up/down swipe on the Magic Mouse. I don't see any keyboard alternatives though.

@FreakinEurekan

Appreciate the response but we retaking about two different things.

I am talking about the different categories of conversion (i.e., Angle, Area, Currency, Data, etc.). I cannot scroll through this list.

I am not about the different currencies which I agree that swipe up / down on a magic mouse changes these.

Thanks.

Hmm - left-right scroll is doing that for me. Again, no keyboard option (which is an oversight for sure)

If you don't have a Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's missing a scrollbar, so the only way is to use a trackpad or to hold down shift while you scroll the mouse scroll wheel.

It scrolls for me. Trackpad, use two-finger scroll and scroll horizontally. I use the Logitech MX mouse and the thumbwheel also works to scroll horizontally. For a regular mouse, Shift+scroll wheel also works.
In all cases, the mouse pointer needs to hover over the list.

@galad , appreciated, that did the trick (i.e., SHIFT + SCROLL WHEEL)! Huge thank you!

@gwang73 , I too use an MX Mouse and note that the thumbwheel does not work. Can you please share what you have your thumbwheel configured to do in either LogiTunes or LogiOptions? Thank you.

@gwang73 Appreciated and that explains the difference, I have it set to Zoom.

Thank you.
Just a reminder, you can keep the Thumbwheel set to Zoom by default and just add a per-app setting for Calculator to set the Thumbwheel to horizontal scroll for just calculator.

@gwang73 appreciate the reminder, I made the change and it works great (other than for a brief lag to detect teh calculator app).

Wow the conversion UI is indeed so idiotic it's hard to imagine. I haven't even discovered it until seeing this thread (granted, I also didn't need to convert anything on Sequoia yet).

Regardless, its discoverability is abysmal. I think that most users - even experienced ones - will never figure out that Calculator can convert anything but currencies.

And the idiotic horizontally-scrolled strip at the top? What kind of brainstorming produced this monstrocity.

It does have a scroll bar (for those few lucky ones who will ever happen to notice this black-on-black thingy):

If you don't see it, do you have scroll bars disabled in system settings by a chance?

Yes, I have scroll bars set to when scrolling but I can never get the scrolling to start so I can never see the scroll bars!
