I put the calculator on the dock. It wasn't opening when I tried clicking on it so I removed it from the dock. It went up in a puff of smoke and now I can not find it other than on the dashboard. How do I get it back? Can you tell I have only been using a Mac for about 5 hours now?

It should be located in your applications folder.
You can just drag it from the applications folder back to your dock.

You may have deleted it. You say your new to mac. Only a few hours of use. I remember when I was new. I screwed up my mac pretty good. Trying to be smart and deleting files I thought were unnecessary.

You might want to play around with it for a few days. Get your self comfortable with it. Then do a fresh install.

If I deleted it, wouldn't it not be on the dashboard either? Or is that different?

Is there a way of getting it back if I did delete it short of doing a fresh install?

Yes, I'm sure you can just select "calculator" in optional installs.

The dashboard calculator is totally different.
