Hi all

I used to have a calculator on my 'Today' screen on my Mac. However, at some point in upgrading my Mac (probably to Sierra) I seem to have lost the ability to have a calculator on the today screen.

Does anyone know how to add it back? It's not one of the available options when editing the today screen.

Many thanks

M

Still available in edit mode for me.

But a little tip - I can highly recommend using Spotlight as your calculator instead. Just cmd+space, type your calculation and BANG! There's your answer. More advanced functions are supported too.

Ok. And then, if you hit Return, the answer appears in Calculator. Otherwise, just click somewhere, and Spotlight closes.

??? I use Calculator in Sierra all the time. What do you mean?

Well, how do I add it to the today screen?

I have no idea what the Today Screen is. Maybe that's why I didn't understand your statement about Calculator.

I did a search, which found this thread :D and also one titled "Finally a use for the Today screen". So how do you use it, whatever it is?

Click on the notifications icon and select 'today'.

Don't see why you'd want to open it in Calculator though. All calculations Calculator can do, can be done directly from Spotlight, without opening anything. When you're done, just continue whatever you were doing.

Well, as my screenshot showed, on my Sierra (and High Sierra) system, it's in the "edit" view for Today.
You don't see it here either, do you? (picture attached)

I am curious why your extensions options show Finder, but that does not show up on my Sierra system, nor on the screen shots from others posted here. (also no Actions, or Photos section. Also, my Share Menu shows that I have 16 items available. You only have 3 items there.)
Can you log in to another user account, and check if the Extensions settings show up differently in another user account?
If you only have one account, this might be a good time to add one, just to troubleshoot this issue...

Yeah, the entire Extensions pane is weird. Wonder what's going on...
