Hello all,
Thanks to some grass advice here I have a Mac Studio M2 on its way next week. I currently have a Cal Digit T4 that I use on my intel MBP to store more files, external Lightroom libraries, etc... and I just found out that it won't be compatible with the M processors. So, thats a new thing I have to buy now too.. ha! Does anyone have any recommendations on a setup for external storage that I can raid that will play nice with the m2? Doesn't need to be super fast, but speed is always nice!

I have a couple OWC enclosures that work. Raid is via software.

You can also use them as JBOD, i.e. the installed devices show up in the finder as individual drives.

Thanks for the reply! I've used some OWC products in the past and have been generally happy with them. I've just heard inconsistent reviews for them lately. I've got a buddy with his and he's been struggling with SoftRaid. It may be worth trying out though. Looks like a good DAS with RAID capabilities... which is really all I'd need.

I've reached out to OWC and they are saying that the ThunderBay works with the m2 processor, and that SoftRaid has been updated to work with it too... so.... 🤷‍♂️. Sounds like I could give it a shot

I use Mac's disk utility to RAID drives. Softraid does a pretty good job with drive status. I've heard about quality inconsistencies, but my ThunderBay Flex 8 is solid.
