Caldigit ts3+ coil whine

this thing is louder than my mac mini and all my external SSDs combined...

and it has a super annoying squeal, this is already a replacement unit!

are they designed this way? should i request a refund and look elsewhere?

I had an OWC dock that had terrible squeal, and replaced it with a TS3+ that's totally silent. I hope mine stays quiet!

jesus. this one is new, and was doing that from the box.

I have a Caldigit TS3 (non-plus) and don’t get any noice from the unit itself, although there is a slight hum from the power block under my desk if I am under the desk

I have the CalDigit. It makes no noise at all.

so i got a second defective unit?!

i wish they would have tested it before sending me a replacement which i called for because of the noise. sheesh
