calendar and contacts disappear and reappear on my nano

I have a new Mac Mini and a new iPod Nano. In iTunes I have "Sync Address Book contacts" and Sync iCal calendar selected. I have never changed these settings.

What's weird is that the data on my iPod seems to come and go. One day my address book contacts and calendar events will all be there, then a few days later the data is gone. I've had the data come and go several times now and it's driving me crazy. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. My iPod is nowhere near full, that was the first thing I checked.

Has anyone seen this before?

Mine is doing this as well, just bought it today and was wondering if you'd found a fix? Right now I can't get them to show up at all, but earlier all of my calendars were on it.
