Say if you enter a phone number into a calendar entry, does the iPhone recognise that as a phone number? So that when you view the appointment, all you have to do is tap the number and it'll automatically call the number (or you can save it to contacts or text)?

I thought it would do, as safari/SMS recognise telephone numbers.

    Grr, copy/paste desperately needed :)

i'd have thought so, too, but i think they cut corners here and there to make the june deadline. i really think the calendar functions will be greatly improved with future software updates.

Let's hope so. Still, it's better than I thought it might have been.

So, if I have someone's number in a calendar entry (ie. "call X" where "X" is someone I don't have/want a contact entry for), I memorise the area code (5 digits) and go to dial it in "Phone" using the keypad. I then go out of phone, and back into calendar to get the rest of the number - but will calendar pick up where I left off (ie. will I be in the calendar entry notes I've just been viewing so I can get the rest of the number), and equally when I go back to Phone will the 5 numbers I've already entered into the keypad still be there?

I guess what I'm asking is do all of the iPhone apps keep their status to exactly where you left off, or do they all just revert back to their main page or whatever when you go back to the Home Screen?
