Okay, was hoping for thought or solutions in case I missed something.

Use case: I want a persistent calendar notification. I have set up the phone to offer me alerts for calendar entries so that they show up on the screen and require an action before they go away. This works BUT it only works if I'm actively using the phone.

Problem. If the phone is locked (as it most often is when such alerts come through) the alert happens, and it's momentarily displayed on the screen, but logging in to the phone automatically clears the notification. This is particularly a problem now that touch ID has gotten so damned fast. Typically, I'll have the phone in my pocket, pull it out and there'll be a calendar notification, but I never see it. I use touch ID, the phone unlocks and clears any calendar notifications before I even see what they are.

Is there a way that I can't seem to find to make calendar notifications persist until actively cleared, even after a touch ID login?

They should be in the Notification Center once you unlock the device.

True, but what I was hoping for was more of a nag than a hidden thing, if you get my meaning. I want something i need to actually dismiss before I can use the phone again so I don't miss anything, you know?

I understand, I'm just not sure if there is something like that unfortunately. Alerts will show up if the phone is unlocked and stay that way until dealt with, but if it's locked then they won't appear once unlocked, aside from usually being there in the Notification Center (which is what I often end up referring to). Badges are usually good reminders too, but they don't appear for calendar events in the sense of just simple timing alerts for them.

Hrm. Seems a pretty simple thing. It's only a problem sometimes, but enough that it is irksome. Maybe there's a calendar app out there someplace to replace the stock one that'll do it. I'll have a look around. Thank you for your feedback in any case.
