iPhone XS Max Calendar appointment creation

When creating a Calendar appointment on your iPhone, is there a QUICK way to select the month, versus scrolling and scrolling?

Example, I go to create a Calendar item, and it’s for November. I end up having to scroll for ages to get to November. You’d think I should be able to long press or something to select the month.

The top corner shows the month. Click it and you'll get to month view. Click the top corner year again and you'll get year view. It's really fast.

Pressing year top left brings you to 12 mo. calendar, press desired month.

Alas, if creating a Calendar item from a hard press on the Calendar icon, one has to scroll...

some of the apple apps are clunky and promote user error:
I have missed a few critical appointments using the apple calendar

I just use "Hey Siri" to set up the appointment.
