Here's the details:

-My wife and I each have iPhones (5 and 5s)
-I use Google calendar (2 g calendars through one account) which I have set to show up on both mine and my wife's phones
-When I create an event on Google Calendar 1 on my phone, then duplicate it so that I can change one of them to Google Calendar 2, the events (original and the duplicate) get doubled on her phone (so I have 2 on mine, but 4 on hers).
-I can't just delete the extras, because even deleting one copy deletes it on mine.

Please help. Thanks.

P.s. If anyone cares why I have to do this, it's because one calendar is for work, so I need it on my phone but make it invisible on my wife's, but for a few of my work calendar events I have to have it on the other calendar so that my wife sees them so she knows not to book plans for us at those times. Thanks

Are the calendars shared with a third Google account that's on her iPhone? Check her calendars in the Calendar app to see what's there and what has a checkmark next to it.
