Recently bought COD 4 from the App Store. Installed and playing no problem on my iMac Retina (4.0 i7 / 32GB RAM / M295X). My question is if anyone knows or can direct me to what the ideal setting are for the games graphics settings. The "optimal settings" which the game selects by default are all at the minimum, baseline settings on graphics. I can punch everything up to max levels and no issues/crashing/etc, but not sure if it's ideal, for lack of a better word.

Perhaps some of you who are playing COD 4 on an iMac Retina could elaborate as to what the ideal settings are. Appreciate it greatly.

The "ideal" settings for this or any game are whatever make the game most playable to you. Some people are OK with 30 fps and maximum details. Others want 60 fps all the time, regardless of settings. Your system should be able to play Modern Warfare smoothly at maximum settings at at least 1080p resolution, probably even at full 5K.

agreed^. Ideal is the best/highest options your hardware can handle. Highest amount of detail while still having an acceptable FPS. COD4 is a pretty old game for your new iMac, you can max all that out with no problem.
