Hi. I just got a new Macbook Pro and I want to put windows on it so I can play Call of Duty 4 but I just have a few questions.

    1) Does Windows XP or Vista work better?

2)Will my computer run it and at what settings?
    Here's the specs:

2.2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
    1440x900 resolution
    2 Gb RAM
    120 Gb Hard drive
NVIDIA Geforce 8600M GT with 128MB SDRAM

Thanks for your time and I would really appreciate your reply.:)

i played the demo with xp pro boot camp and it ran rather nice... i since installed vista ultimate with boot camp and reinstalled xp as a vm only, but have not tried the cod4 demo with vista as i ended up purchasing it for xbox360

We all know XP is the safe place to be for now, however CoD 4 has not been known to have any problems in vista. I play CoD 4 on a 2.4Ghz (rest are the same specs) and i average aroudn 150 FPS with settings maxed out. So have fun either way itll run perfectly..

I'm sorry to sound rude, but is there a specific reason you want to use Vista?

Vista is HORRIBLE in general for gaming.. I know it has DX10 support, but we need at least another year before its better taken advantage of..

The benefits of DirectX 10 just aren't worth it, with all the other slow downs Vista causes.. If you're going to use Windows to game, XP is generally recommended..

    No worries ..

you will play it on vista with no worries Max setting , i have the same MBP and i enjoyed it , and btw vista its not slow or buggy or all that stuff , mayb if u r using less than 1GB of ram it could be so ... i have no problems with it via bootcamp more than 4 months now it flaws , actully i have more problem with Leopard and im bout downgrade to Tiger again :) , anyway enjoy it ;)

    i have a 2.4ghz MBP with 4gb of ram...

i'm sure thousands of people on this forum would agree with me.. Vista is a nightmare of an operating system..

It might be running smoothly for you, but I can almost 100% guarantee it would run smoother on Windows XP.. The only current exception to this right now is probably Crysis, which was built off DX10..

hmm first of all, its better for you to install XP... it requires less from your computer... I don't know how much COD 4 takes from a computer, but I think its gonna run well on your MBP

+1 on XP. I am using my MBP pre SR 2.16 2gb ram with the ATI X1600 to run Orange Box and it does a pretty good job. I am finding it does not like SOF 3 Payback to much, not sure why though. Loads and runs fine but it is rather slow to catch up on movement.

This guy has upped some MBP gaming videos (including COD4) on YouTube.

You can't judge the quality particularly well (because it's YouTube!) but these are better than nothing.

    COD 4 problems!!!

Can anyone tell me how I can get COD 4 to run on my mac? I've tired using both my mac pro, and my mac book pro but to no avail. my mac book pro has a ATY,RadeonX1600 in it with Intel Core Duo 2.16 GHz running at 2 gigs of ram, and my mac pro has an Nvidia GeForce 7300 GT. I've been trying to get this game running through parallels for the past week, but I can't seem to get the thing to run I've got the most recent drivers for my mac, Any help out there would be great!!!
