iPhone SE (2016) Call quality - terrible - why?

I know there are many factors responsible...

I am devastated by the call quality of my new SE, the caller hears me well, but I cannot categorize the quality as even decent.

However, when I switch to Speaker, it is another story! The quality is rather good.

I am comparing it with my old Lumia 930 and my wife's 735 where the quality is magnificently perfect.

1] Perhaps I have switched off some setting? In Microphone I have zero apps...
2] Also Wifi calling requires contacting my cellular provider.
3] The cellular setting is nowhere to be found.
4] I have just upgraded to 13.4.1

Any input will be appreciated.

I’m having the same issue on my 11 Pro after updating my phone on Thursday. Outgoing conversations have been breaking up I’ve been told. Never had this issue before. Hopefully a new update comes out to fix it!

I haven't got the faintest idea what RoboKiller is

You know what, due to the phone still being tested in my hands, I never tore off the foil /seal as I haven't bought any case or tempered glass.

Now the quality got much better. Still not the level of my old phone...

RoboKiller is a spam blocking app. But the latest version works by forwarding all calls to their server and then if they decide to let the call they place a VOIP call back to you. The quality of that call isn't very good.

Calls on my 11 pro max are low volume and terrible quality since last update. Very disappointing. I actually thought I was going crazy thinking this.
