If you agree, simply reply to this thread.

For those who have missed the news, the Mac Pro has just been "updated" with virtually identical specs—including no Thunderbolt—to the 2 year old version.

Is the policy at MacRumors simply "if ANY spec at all is bumped up, it gets a "buy now"?

(If iMac were to have an update that consisted of the old model, plus an extra key on the keyboard, would that suffice?)

I agree. the uninformed buyer will be taken advantage of. Mac Rumors should stand with the consumer.

Do not buy now. Apple needs to know that pro's want more than speed bumps.

No USB 3? No Thunderbolt? No money from me...

Agree. Apple does not deserve Macrumors helping to deceive the public on buying advice. Can we create a boycott button?

It will be interesting to see if macrumors is in the pocket of apple. If they dont change the recommendation then I will assume they are in collusion with apple for certain kicks and it will bring the integrity of the site into question for me.

Change the status of Mac Pro in Buyer's Guide?

Hereby I request that the owners or authors of MacRumors list the Mac Pro as a product that prospective buyers should not consider purchasing in the Buyer's Guide.

A true update with new technologies built-in has been long overdue, but this update is an insult to the professionals who have long been hoping for a new Mac Pro that allows them to run resource-intensive applications.

Unlike the minor update happened with late-2011 MacBook Pros, which a Buy Now was justifiable since the latest generation of computer technology then was included, this proclaimed new Mac Pro sports hardware two generations behind, making a purchase not only unfeasible but moronic.

While it is true that the Buyer's Guide is intended to give instant update whenever a product updates, classifying this Mac Pro as a refresh is far-fetched. It also fails to accomplish the Guide's mission to help prospective buyers with deciding when to purchase the products so that they don't get outdated hardware soon.

Therefore I demand that the Mac Pro continue to be listed as an unfeasible purchase option as this is not a real update. Thank you.

Edit/Note: This was originally a thread on this forum and a mod has helped me combined the threads. Thanks!

Absolutely disagree with the OP. Today's update answered the call from consumers who lobbied hard for the continuation of the Mac Pros. These updates are very worthy enhancements that make these the fastest and most powerful Mac Pros ever. We all have a duty to support Apple and not urge potential buyers to avoid buying these products. Its selfish to do so if its just because they are not as fast as you expected.

You're in a minority of 1 there mate.

We have no duty to support Apple.

Stand by the consumer. Remove and put a link to the send apple feedback page

A DUTY to support Apple? As a business owner using a workstation to make a profit, I have a duties, but blind allegiance to a vendor isn't on the list. I tried buying 100% into the Apple ecosystem and love their consumer products. However, I am tired of watching desktop technology accelerate while the Mac Pro stagnates.
