The issue explained in more detail

I'm guessing you're not from the USA, and you also don't have a CDMA iPhone, because, in the USA, "00" is not a valid international call prefix, and it is therefore impossible to dial an international number by putting "00" in front of it. In the USA, there are two ways to dial an international number: By putting a "+" in front of it, or by putting "011" in front of it.

All the international numbers in my phone have a "+" in front of the country code. As my original post in this thread states, the Caller ID problem with incoming international calls on Verizon occurs whether the numbers are:

• Saved in your contact list with a "+" in front of the number.
• Saved in your contact list with "011" in front of it.
• Not saved in your contact list.

Whether or not the number is saved in your contact list, you will see it displayed on your Caller ID without a "+" or without "011" in front of it. The "+" and "011" never appear on the Caller ID. That is precisely the reason why if the number is saved in your contact list with a "+" or "011" in front of it, you will not see the name you entered for that contact appear. The only thing you will see in all incoming international call situations is the person's entire country code and phone number displayed without a "+" or "011" in front of it.

Same problem with iPhone 4S

The same problem exists on the new iPhone 4S running iOS5.

I'm having an interesting problem as well.

I recently had verizon unlock my 4S sim slot for international use. After doing that, all incoming phone calls have "+1" in front of them. None of my contacts in the US have the country code, so my caller ID wasnt working for phone calls.

Now the funny part is - for text messaging, the "+1" doesnt show up. So after adding "+1" to all my contacts, now my messaging caller ID doesnt work

Do I really need to have two versions of every contact's phone number now? Excuse my language, but that's a half a s s fix. Now anytime i want to use siri, i need to take an additional step to specify if im calling "work" or "mobile", even though they're the same number.

I also get same problem with verizon iphone for international use, my problem is not show when i don't use icloud as my contact sync. try to use google as contact sync

sorry my last post is not a solution, I found other solution if anyone got this problem you can fix it just reset all content and setting and restore your contact from iCloud than problem will fix

Hi -thanks for your post. I just switched over to Verizon and iPhone 4s from Tmobile with a Blackberry.

I am having the same problem you have described and have not been able to find a soloution online (nor that many people complaining about it surprisingly).

I am wondering if you have found a solution to this issue yet, its quite important for me as over half my calls are international. Thanks
