Okay, so I want to be able to stick a Nvidia Mobile GPU into a Imac mid 2011, and be able to use a boot screen natively. Trouble is I have not the foggiest how to modify any kind of bios yet alone a Vbios.

After reading, and reading, and reading some more, I have come to the conclusion that I need to modify a PC Vbios so that it contains the EFI code that the Mac requires to initialise the card properly.

I know this would be insanely easier if someone out there dumped a Imac Vbios that has one of the gtx cards already in, (Example, newer macs with the 600m series cards)...

I have found over on Tech power up, a EFI modified Vbios for a gtx 650, see here: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/175273/175273

I am wondering if this has enough EFI evidence to modify it into a M powered Vbios like the 680m 4gb clevo?

Any help at all would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks!

If the GPU ever came in an iMac just try to find someone to dump that one for you.
However if I call recall correctly vbios modding on mxm cards is something completely different as the EFI modding on pcie cards which only macvidcards and netkas know how to do.
I don't think it's worth anyone's time to one off mod a vbios for a lonely iMac gnu sorry :/

Indeed it is, this is not only because of the sheer amount of configurations that MXM cards have, but also because the bioses are made for that specific oems pc, just like apples variants.

On the other side, anyone with a mac willing to dump a gpu vbios? lol
