Yep, going back to my original sim fixed the voicemail problem. For whatever reason, getting a new phone caused the calls to VM - despite having a new sim.

This points to not the sim being the problem, but the phone or something at Verizon? The act of switching sim chips seems to "temporarily" or semi-permanently fix it.

I had Verizon engineering investigate and they send an automated text saying everything looked fine but miraculously my phone has been working since that time without issue. I'm guessing they did something but didn't feel in necessary to let me know.

How did you get to VZW engineering? Is there a direct number?

Just called Verizon about this issue on my 12 Pro and the rep said the problem is call forwarding enabling itself. She removed call forwarding from our lines and the issue hasn’t popped back up over the last few hours. Fingers crossed this is the fix. There’s no telling how many important calls I’ve missed over the last couple weeks.

Swapping my SIM to another 5G sim fixed it for me. <sigh>. Really hope they get this resolved. Then again, I do think a lot of people use their "phones" for things other than calling today. lol.

I just got my new iPhone 12 Pro on Friday. All was well, but then my phone calls started going straight to voicemail. Of course I checked to see if Do Not Disturb was on, but it wasn’t. I tried everything and eventually reset the network settings; that seemed to fix the issue - temporarily. The same issue happened yesterday, so I reached out to Apple AND to Verizon. Both ran diagnostic checks on my phone and found nothing wrong. I even popped out my SIM card ano put it back in, just in case. All was fine until I woke up this morning after fixing it yesterday, and the problem came back yet again. I toggled DND and a couple of other buttons, and that fixed it. For now.

Has anyone else had an issue like this? I’m thinking it’s an iOS 14 bug, but I could be wrong. I use sleep mode, so could there be a bug somewhere with that? It’s not that I get many calls (and I do let most go to voicemail), but it’s still a nuisance. Apple chat text support is no help, and they’re telling me to call Apple support. Any ideas?
Same problem since I upgraded to iOS 14 on my iPhone X. Ringtone won’t sound randomly. New AW 6 having issues with delayed ringtones compared to phone and marking read messages unread (on latest OS).

I'm having the same issue. New SIM, full carrier signal at home, but no calls go through - straight to VM. This along with the Rampant Group Text issues this new iPhone is seeming like a huge POS. Good job Apple, you've created a worthless $1K phone that cannot make calls or get text messages. Bravo!!!

I have been on 14.3b2 since it dropped late yesterday afternoon, and it seems that this issue may be fixed. Going to give it a few more days before I am actually convinced however.

Scratch that, still broken.

With an e-sim does it work to toggle airplane mode like it did for those of us with a sim chip? Just curious.
I actually haven't tried airplane mode, my fix has been to turn off the line in cellular settings, then turn it back on (which I think is analogous to popping out the sim and putting it back in?). I'll check airplane mode next time.

To flip around this curiosity, since you can still turn off a line in cellular settings with a physical SIM (or maybe this can only be done on physical sim if you also have an eSIM, not sure?), can you give that method a try when you get a chance?

All I can do is turn off cellular data. That didn’t do it for me. Takes a full airplane mode on and off to fix the voicemail issue temporarily.

And to fix it permanently, at least for me, switch to a different 5g sim. Strangely enough, my wife has no problems. Lol

Ok, must not be an option if you don't have both an eSIM and a physical SIM.

Just got off with VZW customer service. What a mess lol. They insisted on testing disabling call forwarding as mentioned above before opening an engineering ticket. I'm trying to avoid getting a new 5G sim to skip the trip to the store and to keep my eSIM, but I'll do it as a last resort- the physical sim line I have is foreign, and with no travel planned in the near future for obvious reasons I can afford to go without it and use VZW on a physical sim until this gets sorted out on the Apple and/or VZW backend.

Also, I never saw an answer to if a full restore as new has permanently fixed this for anyone.

Getting a new sim fixed it for me for a couple days on my 12 Pro Max, but the problem has returned. I want to love this phone, but I'm running out of ideas.

Full restore did not fix it for me, and it turns out a new sim was not a permanent fix.

How many of you use the Verizon Call Filter app? After trying literally everything under the sun, I think I may have found the solution, at least in my case. I had to unsubscribe from the Call Filter service via Verizon's site, then delete the app itself. Then resubscribe to the service, then reinstall the app. Bingo, perfect ever since. I also replicated the solution on my wife's 12 Pro Max, which was also having the issue.

I do use it. Giving this a try and crossing my fingers. Verizon support has come around to the idea that this is actually a problem in the last couple days, but they don’t yet have a solution.

I use it as well. I did contact Verizon and they had me do many of the typical things.

So gar what has solved it for me was turning the phone off, remove the SIM for 2 minutes, then reinserting the SIM and booting back up.

Since then, no calls going to VM. I have been checking each morning after my DND has been on and after the 14.2.1 update.

I just tried this. This is working. I unsubscribed from the call filter from the Verizon site. No calls came in at all.
Deleted, re installed the call filter app (prolly not necessary). Re subscribed to the filter and called with my wife’s cell. Calls
coming in.
