Maybe a naughty neighbor walked up to your door and yelled at HomePod to play something? After all Siri on the HomePod does not have voice recognition..

Is it possible to start the HomePod playing remotely by tapping on its icon in the Home app?

Maybe there is a cat you just don’t know about.
After all you can’t explain why the HomePod was blasting music.

Why wouldn't it be though? If you never stop it, why should it stop?

    Bugs. Power outages. etc.

IN part i left it playing to deter my cat from thinking it might be a new scratching post. The other reason was to see if it crashed or whatever while i was out.

I'm wondering if you had a power outage or power flicker yesterday while you were away.
