Thank you for taking the time to read and answer.

I need to replace my camera after my old TZ5 succumbed to sand damage.

I am currently looking at two models and was looking for opinions

Panasonic Lumix TZ20 £200
Sony NEX5K - £399.99
(I know the Panasonic GF series is more in tune with the NEX5K than the TZ20)

Essentially I want a small camera that can be easily carried, and that also provides me with options including some manual controls, and the ability to zoom / change lenses to provide me with options.

I am mainly wanting the camera for holidays etc - safari, deserts, himilayas etc

Sorry for being so vague.
Does anyone have any knowledge of these cameras?
Anyone had a TZ20 and felt that they were limited by a lack of interchangeable lenses.

Thanks

I use a Sony SLR and considered buying a Sony micro four thirds a while back, I would have got it but changed my mind for no reason. Sony are emerging as a good new DSLR platform. The NEX series are beautiful machines.

Get a Canon G12 or Nikon P90 or similar. They are great and many photographers use them as light alternatives to their DSLRs ;)

I'm not quite sure how it actually performs, but the Fujifilm HS10 seems pretty nice. It has mechanical zoom, which is a nice addition for a point and shoot
