I have seen videos by Maxtech (they pick comparative photos without knowing the camera source) and Supersaf where the iPhone came out better than these photos. In other videos, the cameras have their own strengths, so it depends on how you plan to use it.

I don’t think the winner is as clear cut as these few random samples would make you believe. I personally like the option to shoot some photos in 48 megapixels and I use editing software with them. Personally, it isn’t always about best out of camera for me.

I'm sceptical how much of a market there really is for expensive cameras with average user.

Smartphone cameras are more than good enough, I'd think, for what most average users really want.
Generally most people don't buy dedicated cameras anymore. But I still think that camera software sticking to the DOS era isn't very innovative.

That pumpkin comparison is completely deceptive. 2 different light sources all together. SHAME ON YOU. Why would you do this??

it's back and forth for me. sometimes night photos (night mode activated) look well lit on the iphone and vice versa.
Same in some I like the Pixel more and in others the Iphine.

For example the tree ornament. In the pixel you can actually see the colorful inlay of it. In the iphone its way too bright

Then again the dud in the dark is better with iphone.. And dog in the dark is better in the Pixel

I still think the pumpkin shot is somehow a mistake and I am a bit miffed it has not been commented on by the original author.

I would like it if MacRumors would show images taken from both phones of the same subject and lighting conditions side-by-side, randomly on the left or right without identifying which phone it is from. Then I get to pick which one I like best. At the bottom, I can hit a button to reveal my selections for each phone model.
Genius! This!

I agree that the Pixel 7 photos look somewhat better (assuming the labels on the images are correct ;)). However, differences could be largely corrected with post-processing and both phones produce excellent images.

That 5x optical zoom is great though.
But a 5x optical zoom means worse image quality as you zoom between 2x and 4.9x. I think the best solution is to offer 3x difference between lens when the wider has 48 or more megapixels and 2x when the wider lens has 12MP. So if Apple ever produces a periscope 4th lens, it should be 6x if the 3x stays with a 12MP sensor and 9X if the 3x gets upgraded to 48MP.

Clearly very different lighting. Looks like the flash was turned on the iPhone whereas not for the Pixel. This is just a poorly done comparison.

Yes, but that doesn't take away from the fact that the photo from the Pixel 7 is excellent.
