Camera Connection Kit + USB 3G Modems?

Probably won't work....but if anyone has both could you give it a try? Hook up a USB 3g modem to the Camera connection kit and see if you can make your own 3G iPad.

Would be interesting, but the iPhone OS would have to know the particular modem, what to dial, etc. I doubt it would have the ability to, but I'd just love to be wrong on that end. I've got a USB 3G modem for my MacBook that I used to pull my iPhone SIM card out and use for emergency sessions - it would be killer, but even my MacBook needed software to get installed first.
