iPhone 16 Pro Camera Control from Standby

Quick question:

When my 16 Pro is on standby (AOD on), the first deep press on the Camera Control activates wakes up the phone, but it takes the second deep press to actually start the camera app.

Is there a setting so that just a single press on the camera control during standby starts the camera app?

Not that I’m aware of. It’s probably done to cut down on accidental presses.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I’d love for it to just bring up the camera vs wake the phone. Should be an option imho.

Not yet. It’s been suggested in several reviews that Apple should add this option, and luckily it’s just a software update away!
