Camera green light remains on

The green light for the camera on my M1 MacBook Air remains illuminated after closing down any camera using app. I have to restart the MacBook to make it go out.

Any suggestions please?

While it's on run the terminal command

lsof | grep "Camera"

Should show any process currently using the camera.
