iPad Camera Kit?

I previously had a 30pin one, worked well for transferring photos from SD card to iPad. That price looks fairly decent too!
 
I don't know if it's true, but I heard that Apple blocked most of the generic ones from working. I use the Apple Sd card reader which works great.
