Camera not working on Studio Display 2026 and 15.7.4

Hi,

I in every app camera is greyed out. Is there a way of making it work without updating the macOS?

PS. Daisy chain works like a charm with another LG monitor.
 
The tech spec is not always the only truth
With windows laptops camera on the xdr works just fine -
if you cannot update because Tahoe is not supported for your Mac, try with linux or windows

So, are you saying you got the brand new ASD 2026 on your desk in use already ???
Good for you!

If you are using this ASD with a Mac mini, can you do me and others a favor, please?

Yes it just arrived today, I do not have Mac mini so cannot help, I am using it for work with Lenovo Thinkpad t14 laptop (of course on windows it does not support stage center, the mic works as well)
 
I have MBP so I cannot help either. I can update but was avoiding updating to Tahoe 🙁
 
I have a m2 max macbook pro and macos 15.7.4. after connecting to the 2026 studio display, the camera on studio display only works when the lid of macbook is only. After closing the lid, all studio display camera functions are greyed out. Any solutions?

I have updated to 26.3.1 and camera works well now
 
On MacOS 26.3.1(a) Macbook Pro M1 Max. I had the problem where the camera was not available in applications. I was using the laptop in clamshell mode with the lid closed. Opening the lid fixed it and I was able to close the lid after and it continued working. From then on studio display xdr camera worked normally for me
