Camera problem on iPhone 4s

I have an iPhone 4s running on ios8. It has just started saving my photographs as small files -kb instead of mb when I use the phone camera. I can still use other apps to take and save full size photos.
Also my camera roll has reappeared and the recent photos folder has disappeared.
Any ideas please.

Latest update removed recent photos and brought back camera roll. Not sure about the smaller size photos.
