Camera roll question

Can I move photos from the camera roll to the photo gallery? It seems this would be seemless, but I've been unsuccessful.

You can plug the iphone to your computer and then browse thru the pictures on your phone thru my computer. It shows up as a camera when plugged in so you can copy and paste pics anywhere you want.
