My 16P screen protector package came with a little protector for the bumped out cams. Looks to be similar glass but maybe even thinner. The darned thing broke for no reason... not dropped, never really set down hard. There is another one in the kit but IDK if we really need them. The cams seem to have a small relief that keeps the native glass from scratching when set on a flat surface. Does anyone else have and use one of these?

I don’t personally use screen protectors at all. Never saw the sense in them.

That said - the camera “glass” is actually sapphire so pretty difficult to scratch 😉

Camera lens protectors cause distortion and reduce image quality. I’d avoid them if you care about image quality at all. An alternative is a camera surround that protects the area but doesn’t cover the lenses with glass:

Just my experience, but both my 14PM and 15PM at times had trouble focusing when I applied camera lens protectors on them. Tried Spigen and I think the other brand I tried was Flolab.

I'm not using a protector that covers the lense but I am using a protector that covers the exposed section of phone. My last phone I had a very good case on and dropped it on my gravel driveway. A stone managed to shatter the back part of the exposed section of the camera, so this time I'm not taking any chances. A little expensive but I really like the look:

That looks like a good idea, but not sure 1mm relief would prevent a stone from getting to and breaking the lens glass. But still better than nothing. And you say "expensive"? It's only $11. I could design and make similar on my 3D printer.

These glass lens protectors are so thin that they’re unlikely to protect from a stone either. Really all they’re good for is degrading image quality. 😉

Totally agree. The cheapo glass one I had broke if you looked at it. LOL.

I tried a camera screen protector for my iPhone, and it’s been great. Thin yet protective against scratches, and it hasn’t affected photo quality. A simple, affordable way to keep the lens safe!
