Camera shake and iPhone4

Does anybody know whether the gyroscope & accelerometers on the iPhone4 are likely to be used for digital image stabilization for the main camera? Currently camera shake is the biggest issue I have taking pictures with the 3GS.

Camera shake is a problem with any camera.

It's 2 grams heavier, so by that merit it should be better 😛

But seriously, it is going to be some horrible video (hello jello) unless it is stabilized.

Of course. The question is whether the hardware is sufficient for digital manipulations that compensate, as is common on some dedicated digital cameras. There is at least one more thread about the camera:

EDIT: Actually, image stabilization might be a good idea for an app. 🙂
