An exciting day for Camino users. 1.0 Alpha 1 is out. It's supposed to be the most stable release yet. Although I've never had any problems with previous versions.

Camino

awesome, downloading now to give it a good go.

edit: and maybe this will prompt me to switch back to Camnio full time and my Camnio 'tar 😀

What advantages does camino have over firefox or safari?

Why ask, just download it and see if you like it. IMHO it's the more OS Xafied gecko based browser.

faster than both Safari and FF

made for OS X from the start, FF is a port
streamlined simple look
lightweight

fastest in my opinion (did i already say that? 😀 )

Using 1.0a1 now, it's quick, it's very nicely done. Has the unified title bar for 10.4 so it looks good - still no RSS yet, a major feature I use all the time and would really like to see implemented.

Other than that it's a good looking browser.

Firefox is a Carbon app. Camino is a Cocoa app. Camino is a native app, and therefore is tweaked to perform the best on OS X.

I still prefer Omniweb though... 🙄
