I read that it can run on MacBook pro and mac pro on the "windows on a mac" thread ... however people say that they cant get it to work fully on the iMac causing hassles. Is this true in your experiences?

The imac uses a core 2 duo which is a 64bit CPU. So yes you can run 64bit windows. There is no reason not to go 64bit.

I am running 64 bit Windows 7 on my iMac.
Although the Boot Camp software doesn't support Windows 7 yet, everything else works as it should.
Drivers are all provided in the OS X installation disk. You should give it a try.
If you have any concern in specific, just ask us before you start doing it. :)

You will need to modify the disc image so the installation disc will boot and download the 64-bit Mac Pro drivers if your Leopard disc was printed before the January '08 Mac Pro's were released.
