    Hi all,

Quick question: Can a 2009 MacBook Pro (9400M + 9600M GT 512MB) drive two Apple 24" Cinema Displays at the same time for extended desktop?

    Cheers.

Yes, but you will need a graphic adapter to give you 2 display ports.

Ok, cheers. So the MBP can't drive two be default, even with the split Dual DisplayPort cable. Thats a shame. I like multi-monitor goodness, but don't want to have to pay for the matrox add-on.

No, you can't. Matrox will give you two Display Ports but you needs Mini Display Ports. So far, only Mac Pro can run more than one 24" LED cinemas

If you read the foot note on the Matrox page you need a mini display port to display port cable. So yes, this will work.
