So recently my friend was given an Iphone 5 from the Verizon network. (Her friend no longer needed it) and she asked me if it can be used on Virgin Mobile or Boost.

Are Verizon Iphone 5's unlocked from factory? ( A few articles said they were)

If not, can they be unlocked? (What is the process, I have never done this)

Lastly, would it work for Virgin of Boost?

Appreciate the assistance!

The Verizon iPhone 5 is unlocked but Sprint doesn't allow non-Sprint devices on their network so if you use those carriers, it doesn't really matter if the iPhone is unlocked. Can't use it on Boost or Virgin Mobile anyway.

What pay as you go carriers allow the Iphone 5 from Verizon to work?

Edit: Also thanks for the replies!
