Can an iMac be used as a monitor for a blu-ray player (not external blu-ray drive)?

You would need to install an extra T-con Board to drive the 5k LCD panel.
Then you will need another board to switch between the logic board and this T-con board.
Too complicated for novices.
And the T-con board costs more than a small 4k TV.

My mistake!
It's not the T-con board. It's an LCD driver board (which control different input ports).
