Can an ipad (10.2) use an audioengine D3 DAC?

I've got a USB DAC/headphone amplifier that I could conceivably use with my headphones (Grado SR80, Sennheiser HD558.) Could my ipad use this DAC, given the appropriate lightning to USB adapter? Or is the ipad's headphone jack powerful enough to bring out the low end? (It wasn't on my ipad 3, but that was a long time ago...)

I have previously used an external DAC with my now sold iPad Pro 9.7, so yes it should work with an appropriate adaptor.

I’m sorry, I don’t know the answer to that one. I just know that in my case it worked successfully.
