So I’ve been trying to use this as a replacement on my watch for Garmin Connect. Problem is the widget on watch rarely updates, the stats in the app rarely update, they also don’t seem to factor in workouts done. Seems like it should be a fantastic app but it just doesn’t seem to update or am I doing something wrong?

Any time I go into Garmin it’s updated instantly, the info on app is updated second by second, as soon as something changes it’s updated

if all settings are default the recovery score updates itself every morning if you do a breath session in the mindfullnes app

That’s a bit crap If I want to train at night after work, I already know after a good sleep I’m ready to train

you can turn on afib history (note that the watch will not notify you when you have irregular heart beat) bc the watch will measure way more HRV readings while sleeping as without. so you dont have to do a breath session.

I think this app is trying to be something like Garmin or whoop but unlike these apps that measure everything from HRV to stress to steps to workouts and give you a score this app seems to be focusing on just HRV

I tried Athlytic as well as Gentler. Both did not convince me after my experience with Garmin.

There are to many functions, the GUi is to overloaded. I am mainly interest in recreational data and recommendations related to that. Would be happy to get some recommendations here.

what do you mean with recreational data? I dont know this function in Athlytic. You can see your recovery, your exertion and sleep.

I would agree too much data and not only that can’t be sure when it was updated. It’s certainly not instantly like Garmin

You can use the breath app for HRV or sleep data. In the settings you can choose your goal for exertion

In Garmin you get immediately after finishing of a training an information how many hours you should rest (based on you data). I could not find this in athlytic.

you can't get that with athlytic. I'm also not sure why you need that

Because rest is at least as important as training. There is a huge difference if you do a regular training or HIIT. Garmin provides this information.

if I do a 1h run i will nothing do the rest of the day. On the next day I have my recovery score so I can see when I do my next run.

I use this app, but I’m not convinced with the Hrv accuracy in this app or others I try. My recovery score goes down by about 30-40% overnight, this is with the afib history turned on And a decent nights sleep.
I did see on a YouTube reviewers video that the hardware (AWU) might be at fault with bad readings.

I think the accuracy of the recovery metric in Athlytic is excellent. In fact, I see almost the same exact recovery/hrv score from three separate apps from Apple Watch.
