I'm trying to pass my old 2g iPod Touch to my wife. First issue is that I had to downgrade the OS to 4.1 because 4.2 isn't compatible with my wife's car system.

So now I'm trying to restore the jailbreak. First I tried greenpois0n, which I used for the original jailbreak. It won't work, I keep getting a "failed" message, which results in a bricked ipod and a frustrating restore process.

Then I tried limera1n, which told me it successfully jailbroke the iPod, but I don't see a limera1n icon anywhere, nor do I see a way to install Cydia.

What makes this challenging is that I'm stuck in the world of 4.1. I could only find one version of limera1n, while there were multiple versions of greenpois0n for each version of iOS.

Does anyone have any ideas, or any clue what I could be doing wrong?

Thanks.
