I know this is probably an odd post, but I can not, for the life of me, remember where I obtained my avy nor why I chose it. It's been so long ago. Does anyone recognize the guy? Any info would be great, thanks!

So, I was able to figure out by copying your avatar to my computer and running a google image search on it. "Vincent Valentine - Final Fantasy Wiki - Wikia" was the first hit.

I have no idea what yours is, and so I did cheat (I won't give it away). I would have not guessed it either

Same here, until I saw this thread, I didn't realize you could google an image - pretty cool though
